Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

hc closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mendes is controlling hc's trapped leg to prevent hc from advancing to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with hc in particular looking to stall.
hc is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

hc looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mendes is looking to improve his position but hc isn't that keen on the idea.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mendes misses with a hook. hc ducked under it nicely.

Reece hc overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mendes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but hc can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mendes scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Mendes throws a right hand that hc ducks under and follows up with a left that hc also avoids with ease.
