Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Adebesi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Biggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Simon Adebesi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Russell Biggins!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Biggins is defended easily by Adebesi.
Adebesi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Biggins.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Biggins.
Simon Adebesi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Biggins.
A lazy left from Adebesi finds it's target.
Biggins is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Russell Biggins has been cut.
Adebesi throws a right and a left that Biggins avoids nicely.
Adebesi tries to bum rush Biggins with a series of wild strikes but Biggins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Adebesi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
No luck for Biggins with that takedown attempt.
Biggins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adebesi tries to avoid it but Biggins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adebesi to the ground. Adebesi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Adebesi throws a nice looking combination but Biggins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Adebesi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Biggins has control of Adebesi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Adebesi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Adebesi tries to buck Biggins off but he can't manage it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Adebesi trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Biggins connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Biggins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Adebesi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Biggins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Adebesi defends it nicely.
Simon Adebesi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Biggins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Adebesi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Biggins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Adebesi circles away.
Adebesi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Biggins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Biggins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Adebesi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Adebesi is not content to let Biggins control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Simon Adebesi will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Russell Biggins's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Biggins shoots in looking for a takedown but Adebesi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Biggins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Adebesi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Biggins wants to work for an arm triangle but Adebesi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Biggins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Biggins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Adebesi connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Biggins! He's out on his feet! Adebesi rushes in and drops Biggins with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
