Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kota Punga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rossi comes into the arena with Heavy Metal! blaring out of the sound system. Punga has chosen who let the dogs out as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dale Rossi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kota Punga!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi fails to land with a series of punches.
Rossi swinging wildly here.
Punga stuffs the takedown.
Rossi cracks Punga with a good jab.
Rossi jabs Punga right on the nose. Punga blinks but takes it well.
Rossi lands a right hook to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rossi.
Rossi cracks Punga with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Punga is defended easily by Rossi.
Punga shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rossi but Rossi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rossi checks a leg kick.

We're going to have a standup here because Dale Rossi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rossi throws a right hand that Punga ducks under and follows up with a left that Punga also avoids with ease.

Punga shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rossi sprawls well. Rossi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Punga gets slowly back to his feet.
Rossi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rossi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Punga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rossi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rossi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rossi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Punga is trying to defend but Rossi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
