Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Pimpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pimpin has chosen I'm Destructive as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua shoots in but Pimpin avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Rua shoots in and bounces Pimpin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Pimpin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rua off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Rua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pimpin's guard.

Rua stands and throws Pimpin's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rua lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Rua has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Pimpin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Rua bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pimpin's guard.

Rua is thwarting Pimpin's attempts to control the position.
Pimpin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pimpin.
Rua passes Pimpin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rua seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pimpin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rua scores with a couple of nice shots.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rua takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pimpin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pimpin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rua drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rua postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Pimpin wants to get back to his feet but Rua is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rua wants to control from the top but Pimpin keeps moving.
Nauricio Rua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rua advances position into side control!
Rua tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rua has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rua goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pimpin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rua but great work by Pimpin.

Pimpin is looking to take a break and control but Rua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pimpin decides to stand back up. Pimpin steps back and let's Rua get back to his feet.
Rua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Rua has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pimpin's face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pimpin tries to reverse the position but Rua maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua lands a big shot to the head and Pimpin winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
