Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sayid Jarrah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Yap's choice of entrance music: go the distance. James Yap is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sayid Jarrah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Yap!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yap throws a right and a left that both miss.
No luck for Jarrah with that takedown attempt.
Yap throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Yap throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Sayid Jarrah has been cut.
Jarrah misses with a takedown attempt - Yap sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jarrah changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yap looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jarrah tries to move into full mount but can't pass Yap's legs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jarrah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yap keeps working.
Yap seems a little lost for a moment, as Jarrah dominates the positioning.
Jarrah tries to advance to mount but Yap denies him.
Yap pushes Jarrah away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jarrah gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jarrah trying to control the position but Yap is working away.

Jarrah is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Yap has escaped the position, nice work there.

Yap is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jarrah has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jarrah is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yap knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Yap is pushing Jarrah's head away, looking to escape. Jarrah manages to hold on to the position though.
Jarrah passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Yap!
Yap is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Jarrah with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Jarrah is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Yap can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Yap is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Jarrah looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jarrah's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Yap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jarrah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jarrah looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Jarrah cracks Yap with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Yap really wants to buck Jarrah off and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jarrah is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Yap is surviving well by controlling Jarrah's body position as best he can.

Yap is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Jarrah looking to isolate an arm here. Yap doesn't see it coming and as Jarrah extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Jarrah!
