Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Woleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burza is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Woleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Burza!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woleman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mark Woleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burza stuns Woleman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Burza fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Burza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Woleman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Woleman is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Woleman will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Burza leaves Woleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Burza's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Woleman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Burza scrambles back to his feet.

and Woleman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Woleman misses with a low kick.
Roman Burza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Woleman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Burza has time to react.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Woleman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Burza is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Burza's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Woleman cracks Burza with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Woleman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mark Woleman was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
