Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dam Kogus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose De Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kogus comes to the cage accompanied by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJfJbPj-51o. Dam Kogus had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The key to victory for Dam Kogus has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kogus tries for a takedown but De Souza circles away easily

and De Souza counters with a shoot takedown. Kogus fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
De Souza postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Kogus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. De Souza defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Souza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and De Souza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kogus is rocked!

De Souza gets to his feet - Kogus follows without any prompting.
Oh Kogus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

De Souza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
De Souza winds up and cracks Kogus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
De Souza works his way into side control.

De Souza cracks Kogus with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kogus takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

De Souza is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kogus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
De Souza scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kogus is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and De Souza can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
