The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maafala blocks a head kick by Ambrose.
Maafala shoots in and drives through. Ambrose sprawls well.
Ambrose lands a nice hook to Maafala's body. Maafala takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Maafala tries to clinch but Ambrose is having none of it.
Ambrose throws a head kick but Maafala moves out of range.
Ambrose lands a jab to the nose.
Ambrose lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

It looks like Viko Maafala has been cut.
Maafala takes one on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maafala shoots in for a double leg but Ambrose sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maafala doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ambrose counters with a left to the body.
Curtly Ambrose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viko Maafala.
Maafala takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Ambrose lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Maafala looks gassed!
Ambrose fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ambrose connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ambrose lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Ambrose punishes Maafala's body with a nice straight punch.
Ambrose connects with a single shot there.

That has opened up Viko Maafala's cut even more.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ambrose - that will leave a mark!
Curtly Ambrose is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Maafala is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Ambrose moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

After winning the bout, Curtly Ambrose thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
