PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jefferson Dillaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen Cinderella Man By Eminem as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jefferson Dillaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillaway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryan circles away quickly and effectively.
Dillaway misses with a double jab.
Dillaway comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dillaway lands a really nice looking cross but Ryan seems unphased.
Ryan takes one to the chin there.
Dillaway feints a jab promting Ryan to slip. Dillaway then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ryan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Ryan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dillaway swivels and escapes.
Dillaway leaves Ryan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dillaway throws a series of punches but Ryan moves out of range.

Donk. Dillaway catches Ryan right on the button with a cross.
Dillaway throws a series of strikes that have Ryan backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dillaway throws a right and a left that Ryan avoids nicely.
A left lands for Dillaway.
Dillaway scores with a one two! Ryan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Daniel Ryan has been cut.
Ryan dives in and grabs Dillaway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dillaway pushes down on Ryan's head and hops out.
Jefferson Dillaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Ryan.
Dillaway looks to land a combination. Ryan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dillaway lands a glancing blow to the side of Ryan's head.
Ryan tries for a takedown but Dillaway sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dillaway enables Ryan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dillaway manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Dillaway on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dillaway tries to get out of the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ryan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dillaway wants to sweep here but Ryan controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ryan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ryan seems to have locked his on tight now - Dillaway screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ryan, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Daniel Ryan!
