The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alard is looking to clinch.
Rose connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alard's hands.
Alard drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rose ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Alard tries for a takedown but Rose sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fighters circling - Rose throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Alard shoots in and bounces Rose off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rose wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Alard loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Alard wants to pass the guard but Rose is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeramiah Rose was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rose keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Alard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rose misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alard is looking to clinch.

Alard shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alard is trying to control. Rose wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeramiah Rose dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rose lands a nice looking body shot.
Rose scores with a jab. Alard acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Rose lands a big right hand that sends Alard crashing to the mat! Rose stays standing though and waves Alard back to his feet!

It looks like Aaron Alard has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alard takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rose cracks Alard on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Alard falls backwards against the cage. Rose follows up with more strikes that drop Alard to his knees. Rose keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Alard! This one is all over!
