PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rendo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamov Miciop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miciop works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Miciop is trying to keep Gracie in close.

Miciop is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Miciop keeps moving.
Miciop is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Miciop is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Miciop wants to sweep but no luck.

Miciop throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gracie uses it to pass to side control.

Miciop is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Gracie wants to stand but Miciop has his arm trapped.
Miciop tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.

Gracie decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Miciop holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miciop scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Miciop closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miciop tries to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling the position.
Gracie digs a right hand into Miciop's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Miciop's gas tank.

A head kick misses from Gracie.

Miciop fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gracie to the ground. Miciop is now in Gracie's guard.
Miciop wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Kamov Miciop will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Miciop circles away.

Miciop misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet.

Miciop looking to score a takedown here. Gracie is defending well but Miciop drives through and ends up in Gracie's guard.
Miciop is standing up over Gracie. Gracie looks to escape but Miciop dives into side control.

Miciop decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Miciop tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Miciop pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Miciop or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie which made him look bad.
Rendo Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamov Miciop.

Miciop shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Miciop stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Miciop not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gracie wants to stand and escape but Miciop is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Miciop moves into the clinch successfully.
Gracie tries a body shot but Miciop blocks it.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miciop just stands there and leans against the cage.

Miciop manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gracie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miciop is proving hard to escape from.
Miciop looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miciop is on top in guard.

Gracie is working an open guard so Miciop takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.

Miciop takes the fight into the clinch.

Gracie is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Gracie breaks the clinch.
Miciop has a takedown stuffed.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie fails to land the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Miciop throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gracie was covering up waiting for the punch and Miciop finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamov Miciop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Gracie gets caught napping as Miciop dives in and scores a takedown. Gracie manages to retain guard.
Miciop postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.
Miciop wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Miciop throws a big right hand that misses.
Gracie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Miciop lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Miciop wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Miciop is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Gracie can't keep his opponent in guard - Miciop advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie has left one of his arms exposed and Miciop doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Gracie screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
