And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gryphon Andersoon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andersoon has closed the distance and engaged Hayabusa in a clinch.
Hayabusa stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hayabusa doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Andersoon trying to control the position but instead, Hayabusa has worked for underhooks and has pushed Andersoon into the cage.

Andersoon blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hayabusa lands a hook to the side of the head.
Andersoon is trying to break the clinch but Hayabusa has him pressed against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Hayabusa fails to land.
Andersoon tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hayabusa throws an elbow but it's blocked.
With the fighters up against the cage, Hayabusa throws an elbow but misses.
Andersoon's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hayabusa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Andersoon drives through and clinches with Hayabusa against the cage.

Hayabusa fails in his attempt to clinch.
Andersoon lands a leg kick that knocks Hayabusa off balance momentarily.
Hayabusa keeps the fight on the outside.

Andersoon closes the distance and clinches.
Andersoon wants to break the clinch but can't.

Andersoon is looking to control Hayabusa's arms but Hayabusa gets an underhook and turns him. Now Andersoon has his back to the cage.
Andersoon tries to break free but Hayabusa pushes him back against the cage.
Andersoon lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hayabusa misses with a hook from the clinch.

Andersoon creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hayabusa's defenses.


It looks like Ryu Hayabusa has been cut.
Hayabusa misses with a body punch.
Andersoon lands a nice knee to the body.
Andersoon blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Andersoon misses with a knee to the head.
Andersoon is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Andersoon blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Andersoon has Hayabusa pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Hayabusa is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Andersoon - that's hurt Hayabusa badly! Oh, another knee lands and Hayabusa is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hayabusa doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Gryphon Andersoon!
