Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Takashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Moa Soto!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takashi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soto but Soto pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Soto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takashi.

Soto drives through and clinches with Takashi against the cage.
Soto just leaning against Takashi, taking a breather.
Soto lands an elbow that stopped Takashi in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Hiro Takashi has been cut.
Soto with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Soto lands an elbow inside.
Soto looking to throw knees to the head but Takashi is blocking nicely.

Takashi pulls guard successfully.
Soto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Takashi keeping moving, preventing Soto from controlling successfully.
Soto throwing strikes from guard but Takashi blocks nicely.
Soto wants to control from the top but Takashi keeps moving.

Soto is looking to work some ground and pound but Takashi has wrist control.
Soto trying to control the position from guard on top but Takashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Takashi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soto on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Soto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Soto content to stall in guard here.
Soto cracks Takashi with a solid left hand.
Soto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takashi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Soto throws a big elbow that misses.
Soto missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Takashi wants to stand up but Soto is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Soto is looking to work some ground and pound but Takashi has wrist control.
Soto trying to control but Takashi is working from the bottom.
Soto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Soto throwing strikes from guard but Takashi blocks nicely.
Takashi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Soto throws a head kick that Takashi semi-blocks.


Hiro Takashi's cut is getting worse.
Takashi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Soto's waist but Soto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takashi off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Takashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soto misses with a head kick.

Soto tries a head kick but it misses.
Soto takes one to the chin there.
Soto swats away the attempt to clinch by Takashi.
Soto thuds his right hand into Takashi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A head kick from Soto lands but Takashi takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takashi shoots in for a double leg but Soto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No luck for Takashi with that takedown attempt.
Takashi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soto tries to avoid it but Takashi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soto to the ground. Soto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moa Soto dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hiro Takashi's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Takashi thows a leg kick but Soto checks it
enabling Soto to counter with a crisp jab.
Soto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Takashi throws the kick towards the body but Soto avoids it.

Soto rushes Takashi and presses him up against the cage.
Soto tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Soto throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Soto misses with a punch on the inside.
Takashi lands a nice shot to the body.
Soto throws a knee to the head but misses.
The referee is keeping an eye on Takashi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Takashi creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Takashi can't get the takedown.
Soto prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Takashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soto misses with an elbow over the top.
Soto scores with a shoulder strike.
Soto digs a right hand into Takashi's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Takashi's gas tank.
Soto throws an elbow that misses.
Takashi stalling in the clinch but Soto improves position.
Takashi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Soto.
Soto misses with a hook from the clinch.
Soto is working Takashi over against the cage.

Soto has Takashi pressed against the cage, preventing Takashi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Soto scores with a knee to the head.
Takashi is looking to break free of the clinch but Soto has double underhooks.
Soto lands an elbow just above Takashi 's eye.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takashi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Soto fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Takashi is looking to clinch but Soto is avoiding it.
Nice body kick there by Soto.
Takashi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Horrible takedown by Takashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Soto which made him look bad.
Takashi shoots in looking for a takedown. Soto tries to sprawl out of it but Takashi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Soto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Soto pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Takashi clinches with his opponent.
Soto stalling in the clinch.
Soto is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Soto comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Soto misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Takashi.
Soto gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Soto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Takashi's defenses.

Takashi is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Soto is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Soto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Takashi tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Soto counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Takashi is lucky that one didn't land flush.


Hiro Takashi's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Takashi misses with a two punch combination.
A slapping leg kick lands for Soto.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Takashi throws a series of punches but Soto avoids them all with ease.

and Soto counters with a flying knee. Nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moa Soto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Soto takes the fight into the clinch.
Soto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Takashi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Takashi could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Takashi throws a sloppy head kick
and Soto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Soto tries a head kick but it misses.
Hiro Takashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takashi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soto tries to avoid it but Takashi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soto to the ground. Soto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Takashi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Soto.
Takashi tries for a takedown but Soto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Soto feints and then cracks Takashi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takashi down.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Soto dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Takashi. That did some damage!

Takashi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soto sprawls well. Soto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Takashi gets slowly back to his feet.

Soto leaves Takashi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Takashi walks into a left hand.

Moa Soto seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Soto stuffs the takedown attempt from Takashi. Takashi gets slowly back to his feet.
Takashi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Takashi shoots for a takedown but Soto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Soto closes the distance and clinches.
Soto tries to land knees in the clinch but Takashi avoids the damage to the body.
Takashi takes a knee to the side of the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Soto lands an elbow inside that Takashi shrugs off.
Soto looking to throw knees to the head but Takashi is blocking nicely.
Takashi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Takashi jumps guard but Soto stands there with Takashi around his waist. Takashi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Soto tries to throw a body punch but Takashi avoids it by throwing Soto back against the cage.

Oh Takashi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jeez, Hiro Takashi's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Soto comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hiro Takashi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
