Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Trades!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bender!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trades throws a right and a left that both miss.
A left lands for Trades.

Trades closes the distance and clinches.

Trades breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Trades tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bender paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bender tries to clinch but Trades moves out of range.

and Trades counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bender won't be happy with that.
Bender is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Bender's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bender is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Trades advances to full mount.

Bender wants to control but Trades is having none of it.
Bender wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Trades.
Bender is trying desperately to improve position.
Bender is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trades wants to take Bender's back but he can't do it this time.
Bender tries to control Trades's body but Trades pushes him off. Bender squirms to his side and now Trades has his back!

Trades has the hooks in. Bender is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Bender just trying to survive but Trades is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Trades tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bender swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Trades has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bender regains guard immediately.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bender is looking for a triangle here but Trades uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Bender really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trades. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trades thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bender's head.
Bender is trying to get back to full guard.

Trades tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bender controls his leg.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Trades stops Bender from getting back to his feet.

Trades is thwarting Bender's attempts to control the position.
Bender is refusing to be controlled, as Trades sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trades wants to clinch.
Trades looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Trades misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Trades keeps the fight on the outside.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bender swats away the attempt to clinch by Trades.
Bender fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bender moves in looking to clinch but Trades pushes him off.

Trades closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Trades lands in his opponent's guard.

Bender has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trades can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bender is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trades is controlling him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Trades decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bender moves in looking to clinch but Trades pushes him off.
Trades tests Bender's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Trades changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bender tries to avoid it but Trades manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bender to the ground. Bender escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Trades. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bender takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bender wants to clinch up but Trades keeps it at a distance.
Jack Trades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trades shoots in but Bender avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bender stuffs the takedown attempt from Trades. Trades gets slowly back to his feet.
Bender shoots for a double leg takedown but Trades sprawls well. He's pushed Bender's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bender keeps the fight on the outside.
Bender wants to clinch up but Trades keeps it at a distance.

Trades shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bender seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jack Trades overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Trades gets to his feet - Bender follows without any prompting.
Trades changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bender tries to avoid it but Trades manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bender to the ground. Bender escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Trades fails with the takedown.
John Bender has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bender throws a head kick but Trades moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Trades showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Trades has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
