Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjalmar Soderberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hjalmar Soderberg!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyson Austin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Austin enables Soderberg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Austin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Soderberg drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Austin dives on top into guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Austin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Austin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Austin walks into a straight right hand from Soderberg.
Soderberg throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Austin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Austin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Soderberg throws out the jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Soderberg darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

and Austin counters with a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Soderberg cracks Austin with a good jab.
Austin throws a right hand that Soderberg ducks under and follows up with a left that Soderberg also avoids with ease.

Soderberg waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Austin. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Austin to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
