Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Beniot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beniot is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Our Lady in Peace-Whatever. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Beniot!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote checks a leg kick nicely.
Beniot misses with a looping left.
Cote keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Good leg kick by Beniot there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Beniot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cote avoids it really well and circles away.
Beniot slips a jab and a cross from Cote.

Beniot throws a low kick but Cote avoids it.
Beniot finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Cote swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cote misses with a two punch combination.

Cote displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Beniot.

Cote closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Horrible takedown by Beniot or perhaps it was just good defense by Cote which made him look bad.

It looks like Chris Beniot has been cut.
Beniot throws a hook to the side of Cote's head but Cote sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Beniot shoots in for a double leg but Cote sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Beniot changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cote looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cote avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Beniot.
Cote knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beniot on the ground.
Beniot throws a strike aimed at the side of Cote's head but Cote avoids it well.

Cote is trying to buck Beniot off.

Beniot creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cote sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cote prevents Beniot from moving into mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cote avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Beniot.
Beniot works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cote takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Beniot remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cote will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Beniot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cote tries to avoid it but Beniot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cote to the ground. Cote escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A nice leg kick lands there from Beniot.

Chris Beniot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beniot works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Beniot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cote pinned against the cage. Cote gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Andrei Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Beniot.
Beniot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cote as he jumps to the side.
Beniot shoots in looking for a takedown but Cote manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beniot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well Beniot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
