PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khash Mango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soa Kawai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Khash Mango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Soa Kawai!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawai on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Mango misses with a few strikes there.
Mango takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mango tries to clinch but Kawai moves out of range.
Kawai fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mango tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kawai was well out of range. Poor timing from Mango.
Kawai throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mango sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mango swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck for Mango with that takedown attempt.
Mango takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mango looks for a takedown but Kawai sprawls well.
Kawai misses with a low kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mango is trying to pull guard but Kawai has him pressed against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khash Mango. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kawai is trying to push Mango away but Mango has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Mango throws an elbow but it misses.
Mango throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kawais head.
Mango has had enough of the clinch but Kawai keeps him there for the moment.
Kawai is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Kawai throws a head punch that misses.
Kawai tries to break free but Mango pushes him back against the ropes.
Kawai has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kawai wants to break free but Mango has control.
Kawai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kawai has a couple of punches blocked by Mango.
Kawai is trying to break the clinch but Mango has him pressed against the ropes.

Mango prevents Kawai from breaking the clinch.
Mango goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kawai prevents it.
Mango keeps control of Kawai as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kawai tries to circle away but Mango has him pinned against the ropes.
Mango with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Mango has Kawai pressed against the ropes, preventing Kawai from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mango escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mango digs a good body shot into Kawai's ribs.

Mango forces Kawai back against the ropes and clinches.

Mango could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mango will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kawai up against the ropes.
Kawai is trying to force a seperation but Mango has the dominant position.

Mango breaks from the clinch.
Kawai tries to clinch but Mango is having none of it.
Nice uppercut lands for Kawai. That snapped Mango's head back.
Soa Kawai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mango throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kawai.
Kawai throws an overhand right that lands on Mango's shoulder, as Mango tries to avoid the shot.
Kawai misses with an uppercut. Mango saw that one coming.
Mango misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Kawai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A nice combination there by Kawai.


It looks like Khash Mango has been cut.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mango looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A jab from Kawai misses.
Mango takes a swing at Kawai's ribcage but misses.
Sloppy strikes from Mango. Those never looked like landing.

Mango pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kawai throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mango lands with a thumping leg kick.

Kawai drives through and clinches with Mango against the ropes.
Kawai scores with a shoulder strike.
Kawai tries to circle away but Mango has him pinned against the ropes.
Mango has Kawai pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Kawai manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mango is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mango is breathing heavily.
Mango has Kawai pressed against the ropes, preventing Kawai from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Mango keeps control of Kawai as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kawai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kawai wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kawai tries to break free but Mango pushes him back against the ropes.
Mango is working for takedown but Kawai is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kawai has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Soa Kawai dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Khash Mango's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Mango throws a head kick that half lands.
Kawai throws a shot to the body.
Kawai connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mango momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice body punch from Kawai.
Kawai tries to close the distance and clinch but Mango swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kawai throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mango.
Soa Kawai seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mango tries to clinch up but Kawai circles away and keeps his distance.
Kawai cracks Mango with a hook to the temple - Mango is on wobbly legs here! Kawai swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Mango falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kawai wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Soa Kawai!
