PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Auto Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Eric Mac has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Auto Bot's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Auto Bot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eric Mac!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bot is breathing heavily.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mac is trying to stand back up but Bot is controlling him
Mac blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bot.
Mac is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bot escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mac misses with a takedown

and Bot counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bot sitting in guard here, content to control.
Bot passes Mac's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mac blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bot.

Bot escapes and gets back to his feet.

Bot shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bot was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mac is desperately trying to improve his position but Bot has a good base and remains in mount.
Bot with shots to the head and body - Mac looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bot tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bot throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mac wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bot.
Bot prevents Mac from getting the reversal.
Bot controlling from the full mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mac tries to hold on but Bot pushes him away.
Mac is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mac holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bot tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bot throwing strikes here but Mac is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Mac blocking the ground and pound.
Bot misses with a head shot.
Bot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mac looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bot is working the ground and pound. Can Mac escape?
Mac has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bot.
Bot throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Good control from Bot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mac for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Auto Bot dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Bot closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mac's guard.
Bot postures up.
Bot is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mac working a defensive guard here.
Bot is stalling in the full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mac shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bot scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Bot is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mac defends it well.
Bot looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bot missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mac manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mac is trying to keep Bot in close.
Bot throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mac working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bot.
Bot with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bot passes into half guard.
Bot passes the guard and advances to mount!

Bot has hold of Mac's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mac manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mac avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bot.
Bot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bot thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Bot blocks Mac's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Mac can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bot lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bot controlling from the full mount.
Bot's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Auto Bot dominated that second round.
That's time! Bot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Mac looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mac takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Bot looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bot controlling the pace.
Mac is trying to stand.
Bot content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mac moves into full guard.

Mac is looking for a triangle here but Bot uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Bot landing strikes.
Bot fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bot working the ground and pound but Mac is defending the strikes.

Mac is trying to get back to half guard.
Mac is trying to escape the position but Bot is controlling the position.
Auto Bot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Auto Bot has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bot drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bot might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bot sitting in guard here, content to control.
Mac controls Bot momentarily but Bot frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Auto Bot wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Mac gets caught napping as Bot dives in and scores a takedown. Mac manages to retain guard.
Mac doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mac is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bot gets full guard.
Eric Mac has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Auto Bot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bot seems keen to control Mac's posture.

And that's the end of the fight!
Auto Bot showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bot has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
