The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knut fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Curtis throws a looping overhand right but Knut ducks down to avoid it.
Knut avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Curtis gets the takedown into side control.
Knut sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Knut controlling the position well.
Curtis trying to mount his opponent but Knut defends it.

Knut is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Knut enables Curtis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Knut manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Knut closes the distance and clinches up with Curtis, looking for a takedown. Knut pushes Curtis against the cage but Curtis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Curtis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Knut sprawls well. Knut wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Curtis gets slowly back to his feet.

Knut has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Curtis.
Busta Knut is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Curtis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Knut.
Curtis throws a hook to the side of Knut's head but Knut sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Curtis lunges at Knut with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Knut's hand.

Curtis stuffs the takedown attempt from Knut. Knut gets slowly back to his feet.
Curtis is looking to chop away at Knut's legs.
Curtis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Knut. That did some damage!

Curtis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knut looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Knut wants to control but Curtis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jackson Curtis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Curtis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Knut on the ground.

Knut sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Knut is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Curtis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Curtis's back!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knut accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Knut keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Curtis's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
