Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Boxer Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes to the cage accompanied by Bleed It Out. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxer Jr misses the shot to the body.

Maia drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Boxer Jr has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though.
Maia throwing strikes but missing.
Boxer Jr is adopting a defensive guard.
Maia advances to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia trying to control the action but Boxer Jr is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maia is thwarting Boxer Jr's attempts to control the position.
Boxer Jr wants to sweep but Maia has passed to side control!
Boxer Jr misses with a strike from the bottom.

Maia is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Boxer Jr is trying to escape and Maia transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Boxer Jr is forced to tap! Nice work there by Maia! Very nice indeed!
