Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Crimson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Crimson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Matt Crimson has been cut.

Crimson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Crimson is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.

Jones is trying to get back to full guard.

Crimson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Crimson.
Jones wants to control but Crimson is keeping busy.

Crimson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Crimson is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

Crimson is working for a submission of some sort.

Crimson is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Crimson to get the leverage.

Crimson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well.

Crimson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work.

Crimson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Crimson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jones controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Crimson trying to work for an americana but Jones has managed to regain full guard.
Crimson wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crimson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Crimson dominated that round.

Jones swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Crimson.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Crimson or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Crimson. Crimson maintains the clinch.
Crimson jumps guard but Jones stands there with Crimson around his waist. Crimson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Crimson is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Nathan Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Crimson.
Crimson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Crimson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Jones.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones cracks Crimson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Jones lands a big head kick that sends Crimson tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Crimson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Crimson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crimson somewhat.
Crimson is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick by Jones - that's a beauty! Crimson is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Jones can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Nathan Jones!
