The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews tries to clinch up but de Souza circles away and keeps his distance.

Matthews rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

so de Souza counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

de Souza grinds an elbow into Matthews's temple.

de Souza is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Matthews looks calm but he's in trouble here. de Souza gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Matthews is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! de Souza lets go of the hold and Matthews can pop his arm back in it's socket.
