The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monferrand misses with a takedown attempt
and Dent counters with a stiff right hand.
Monferrand takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dent digs a good hook to Monferrand's body.

and Dent counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dent fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Monferrand looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A punch lands to the side of Monferrand 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

letting Dent counter with a right hand.

Dent drives through and clinches with Monferrand against the cage.

Dent breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Joseph Monferrand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Monferrand bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Dent comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Monferrand falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Monferrand was out before he hit the floor!
