The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gr loads up on a big right hand but Lapp slips the punch.
Gr misses with a leg kick.
Gr stuffs the takedown.
Gr misses with a head kick.
Gr misses with a straight left.
Gr throws a nice inside leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gr lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lapp takes one to the side of the head.
Gr throws a quick inside leg kick.
Gr throws a hook but Lapp blocks it.

Gr takes the fight into the clinch.
Gr lands a nice knee to the body.
Gr manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Lapp wants the takedown. Gr is fighting it off but Lapp persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gr's guard against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gr wants to get back to his feet but Lapp passes into half guard.

Gr won't allow Lapp to pass to mount.

Lapp postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Gr to stand up.
Gr throws a head kick but Lapp moves out of range.
Gr digs a good body shot into Lapp's ribs.
Lapp blocks a jab.
Gr pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lapp is out of range and Gr settles back down.
Gr tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Lapp counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gr!

Lapp is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gr tries to bum rush Lapp with a series of wild strikes but Lapp uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Khalien Gr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lapp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lapp takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gr throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lapp uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gr.
Lapp misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck for Lapp with that takedown attempt.

Lapp looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lapp on the ground.

Lapp tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gr.
Lapp is breathing heavily.
Lapp is looking to advance position but Gr won't allow it.

Gr manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Gr! Lapp is out on his feet! Gr rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lapp is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lapp is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
