Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Cockburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nadi Tsunami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Cockburn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nadi Tsunami!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cockburn tries for a takedown but Tsunami sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Tsunami bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cockburn is looking to reverse the position.
Tsunami working the ground and pound from side control.
Cockburn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cockburn is trying to get back to half guard.
Cockburn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Tsunami is looking for a kimura here.

Tsunami stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Tsunami leaves Cockburn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Tsunami counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tsunami.

Cockburn has his foot on Tsunami's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tsunami works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee asks Tsunami politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tsunami prefers to stall for the moment though.

Cockburn jumps guard but Tsunami turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Tsunami jumps guard and drags Cockburn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tsunami is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Tsunami is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cockburn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cockburn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tsunami manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cockburn has Tsunami in his guard.

Cockburn isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tsunami stacks Cockburn on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tsunami!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tsunami decides to stand back up.

Tsunami moves into range and clinches up with Cockburn.

Cockburn drops back looking for a leg! Tsunami is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tsunami manages to kick Cockburn off! Cockburn jumps back into Tsunami's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tsunami is on top in guard.

Tsunami must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cockburn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tsunami can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nadi Tsunami showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tsunami looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cockburn with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tsunami tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tsunami has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tsunami drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tsunami decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cockburn, up you get!
William Cockburn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whack! Tsunami lands a heavy head kick that drops Cockburn. The ref tackles Tsunami to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Cockburn was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Nadi Tsunami!
