Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Jaques!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez throws a quick inside leg kick.

Gomez scores with a takedown into Jaques's guard.
Jaques wants to get back to his feet but Gomez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gomez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gomez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Matthew Gomez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Gomez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jaques manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jaques throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Aaron Jaques seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left and a right from Jaques both land. Nice combination.
Gomez misses with a wild body shot.
Jaques looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gomez takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gomez throws a low kick but Jaques avoids it.
Jaques connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jaques moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gomez tries for a takedown but Jaques sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jaques feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gomez's calf.
Gomez looks gassed!
Jaques scores with a head kick. Gomez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Jaques lands with a kick to the ribs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jaques goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Gomez takes a jab right on the kisser.

Gomez is rocked!
Jaques could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters circle, before Jaques throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Gomez's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Jaques lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
