PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Giordano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braden Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giordano comes to the cage accompanied by Godfather Theme (hip hop remix). The crowd seem to be enjoying Turk's choice of entrance music: Status Quo - Deeper and Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giordano misses with a wild body shot.
Turk throws a jab but it's blocked by Giordano.
Turk misses with a leg kick.

Turk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Turk lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turk wants to control from the top but Giordano keeps moving.
Turk wants to pass the guard but Giordano is keeping the position.
Giordano is trying to keep Turk in close.
Turk throws a big elbow that misses.

Turk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Turk dodges the punch combination from Giordano.
Giordano thows a body shot but no joy.
Giordano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Turk.
Giordano missing with a left hand there. Turk was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice defenses there by Turk.
Turk throws a body punch but Giordano moves out of range.
Giordano takes one to the side of the head.

Turk clinches.
Giordano tries to pull guard but Turk won't allow it.

Giordano ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Giordano no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turk lands a couple of elbows.
Turk looking to sit in guard and control but Giordano gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Giordano wants to pass the guard but Turk is keeping the position.

Turk looking for a sweep. Not yet Turk, not yet.

Turk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Giordano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Turk wants to sweep but no luck.
Giordano throwing strikes but missing.
Turk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Turk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Giordano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Giordano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Giordano postures up.

Turk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Giordano defends it easily.
Giordano is working Turk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Giordano is posturing up here but Turk has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Giordano tries to roll out but it's too tight and Giordano has to tap! Slick submission there by Turk!
