The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maughan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Carty looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maughan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carty back to the cage. Maughan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Maughan throws a series of punches but Carty moves out of range.

Carty shoots in looking for a takedown. Maughan tries to sprawl out of it but Carty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maughan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd cheers as Maughan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carty doesn't seem phased though.
Maughan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maughan is fending him off so far but Carty persists. Nope, Maughan circles away and we're back to standing.

Carty drops his hands momentarily and Maughan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maughan cracks Carty with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Carty looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Maughan finish him?

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Carty. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Maughan moves in close and cracks Carty with a massive right hand! Carty, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Maughan!
