Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pat Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kick Snare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snare has chosen Lonnie G - Sweep as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pat Franklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kick Snare!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin misses with a combination

and Snare decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Franklin's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Franklin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Snare has picked Franklin up and slammed him! Franklin can't keep hold of the triangle and Snare manages to pass to side control!
Franklin wants to get back to his feet.

Snare is trying to get an arm triangle but Franklin is defending well.
Snare throwing strikes but Franklin manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Snare manages to work his way to half guard, despite Franklin's best efforts.
Snare is looking to control Franklin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Snare avoid being mounted?
Snare is pressing down on Franklin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Snare wants to stand up but Franklin is controlling him.
Franklin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Franklin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Franklin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Franklin trying to control the position from guard on top but Snare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Snare is looking for a triangle but Franklin pushes his legs off easily.
Franklin throws a strike but Snare rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Franklin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Franklin has his foot on Snare's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Snare works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snare thows a huge punch but Franklin dodges it nicely.

Snare looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Snare thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Franklin's head.
Franklin is breathing heavily.
Snare not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Franklin is refusing to be controlled, as Snare sits in half guard.

Franklin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Snare.

Franklin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Franklin is in trouble now - Snare has advanced to mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snare trying to control but he's not successful this time.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kick Snare dominated that round.

Franklin tries to sprawl but Snare drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Snare thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Franklin's head.
Snare content to control rather than advance.
Snare has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Franklin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Kick Snare has got the better of the ground game so far.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Snare connects with a nice short shot to Franklin's temple.
Franklin is refusing to be controlled, as Snare sits in half guard.

Well, if Snare is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Snare is trying to control the action in half guard but Franklin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kick Snare has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Franklin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Snare counters with a right hand to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
No joy there for Franklin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Franklin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Snare counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Franklin!
Franklin is desperately trying to improve his position but Snare has a good base and remains in mount.

It looks like Pat Franklin has been cut.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

During a confident post fight interview, Kick Snare thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
