Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Champ Bombada has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Champ Bombada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aaron Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andrews throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bombada was covering up waiting for the punch and Andrews finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andrews passes Bombada's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Andrews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bombada keeps working.

Andrews moves nicely into side control.

Andrews advances nicely into full mount.
Bombada prevents Andrews from taking his back.
Andrews throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Andrews tries to control but Bombada wriggling away.

Andrews misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bombada stops Andrews from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Andrews swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bombada is now in Andrews's guard. A big mistake from Andrews there, giving up the dominant position!

Bombada would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bombada knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Andrews on the ground.
Andrews has control of Bombada's left arm, preventing Bombada from doing any damage.

Bombada wants to stand and escape but instead Andrews has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Andrews wants to pass the guard but Bombada is keeping the position.

Bombada throws a series of punches but Andrews moves out of range.
Bombada throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bombada misses with an uppercut.
Andrews shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bombada pinned against the cage. Bombada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Andrews.
Andrews shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bombada defends it nicely.
No luck for Andrews with that takedown attempt.
Aaron Andrews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice uppercut lands for Bombada. That snapped Andrews's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Andrews takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Andrews changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bombada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bombada gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Andrews content just to control the position here.
Bombada wants to control but Andrews is having none of it.
Bombada is controlling an arm, preventing Andrews from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Andrews working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Andrews jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bombada is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bombada and Andrews has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Andrews advances to mount.

Bombada prevents Andrews from taking his back.
Andrews misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bombada tries to hold on but Andrews postures up.

Andrews goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bombada is on top in guard.

Bombada got a little sloppy there for a moment and Andrews has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bombada has managed to get both his arms back between Andrews's legs - danger averted.
Andrews controls Bombada momentarily but Bombada frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bombada gets to his feet. Andrews looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Champ Bombada dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Andrews looks for a takedown but Bombada sprawls well.
Bombada catches Andrews with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Andrews shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bombada as he avoids it easily.

Andrews throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bombada's waist but Bombada gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andrews off to one side.
Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Andrews.
Bombada fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Andrews on the side of the head.
Andrews takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bombada throws an off balance right hand
and Andrews counters with a right hand to the body.
The crowd cheers as Bombada lands an impressive looking overhand right. Andrews doesn't seem phased though.
Andrews throws a right and a left that both miss.

Andrews shoots in and bounces Bombada off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Andrews takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Andrews with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Andrews is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Andrews wants to control from the top but Bombada keeps moving.

Andrews postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bombada is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Andrews, into his guard.

Andrews is working an open guard so Bombada takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Andrews with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bombada to score with a decent uppercut.
Bombada scores with a jab to the head.
Bombada lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Bombada is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bombada takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Andrews is rocked!
Bombada drops Andrews with a naaaaasty hook - Andrews is in real trouble here! Bombada dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Champ Bombada!
After the fight, Champ Bombada was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
