PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ross Ridpath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chika Haruka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haruka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Haruka lands a body shot.

Haruka drops Ridpath with a right and a left! Haruka comes rushing in but Ridpath regains his composure and manages to keep Haruka in guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ridpath throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haruka's waist but Haruka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ridpath off to one side.
Haruka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

enabling Haruka to counter with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ridpath gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oh Ridpath is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ridpath decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ridpath seems to have got his legs back now.

Ridpath is working for a submission of some sort.

Ridpath looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Haruka lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Ridpath sprawling to the canvas. Haruka follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Ridpath hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Ridpath or perhaps it was just good defense by Haruka which made him look bad.
