Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Takuma Uchida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Uchida might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pride. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Uchida tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Uchida is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Uchida is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Uchida extends an breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Uchida.

A relieved looking Takuma Uchida thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
