The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Da Fonseca sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Da Fonseca enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Da Fonseca manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Da Fonseca is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Da Fonseca manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Da Fonseca in his guard.

Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Da Fonseca frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! Da Fonseca is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
