The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald moves into the clinch.

Putkimies takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

McDonald misses with a kick to the body.
Putkimies tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McDonald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McDonald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McDonald tries to land a front kick but Putkimies steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Putkimies misses with a body shot.
Putkimies just misses with a punch to the body.
McDonald throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oooooh!!! McDonald has knocked Putkimies down with a huge combo! McDonald steps away and waves a wobbly Putkimies back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Putkimies throws a nice looking combination but McDonald bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Putkimies moves out of range as McDonald throws a body kick.

McDonald with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McDonald lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Putkimies has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Putkimies and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McDonald looks to throw the jab but Putkimies is out of range.
McDonald lands with a nice body punch.
Putkimies misses with a body shot.
McDonald connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Putkimies is rocked!
Putkimies looks to score with a jab to the body but McDonald is just out of range.

Putkimies tries to bum rush McDonald with a series of wild strikes but McDonald uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

McDonald fakes the body blow, causing Putkimies to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Putkimies goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

A less than humble Mitch McDonald misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
