The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daris throws the left hand but Melo avoids the punch easily.
Daris walks forward, straight into a front kick from Melo.
Daris throws a hook but Melo avoids it easily.
Daris throws out a loose jab but Melo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Daris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Daris misses with a head kick.
Melo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Daris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Melo lands with a slapping head kick.
Melo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Melo moves out of range as Daris strikes.
Melo scores with a kick to the body.
Daris looks gassed!

Melo is looking to clinch but Daris is avoiding it.
Melo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Melo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
An inside leg kick lands from Melo.
Melo feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Daris collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

After the fight, Felipe Melo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
