Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Abdi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henderson Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Abdi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to A$AP Rocky - Goldie. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angelo Abdi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdi shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Abdi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Abdi fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cormier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cormier is looking to work some ground and pound but Abdi has wrist control.

Cormier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Abdi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cormier has managed to get both his arms back between Abdi's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abdi is looking for a triangle here but Cormier uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Abdi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Abdi is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cormier connects with a decent elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abdi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Cormier lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Abdi down.
Cormier connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Abdi some visible discomfort.

Cormier should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cormier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cormier in side control lands a decent elbow.
Abdi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cormier is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Cormier postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Abdi in real trouble here! The ref calls for Abdi to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henderson Cormier!
