The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LaRussa wants to stand but Hinlares is controlling the position.

Hinlares drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hinlares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hinlares drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but LaRussa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hinlares has LaRussa in his guard.

LaRussa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hinlares, up you get!
Hinlares misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Hinlares closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming LaRussa to the mat! LaRussa manages to get full guard.
Hinlares slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
