The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cohen .
Burnett shoots in but Cohen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Burnett shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cohen as he jumps to the side.

Burnett shoots in for a takedown but Cohen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Burnett shoots in and gets a takedown into Cohen 's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Cohen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burnett defends well.

Cohen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burnett manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burnett wants to stand but Cohen is controlling the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lawrence Cohen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cohen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burnett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cohen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Burnett connects with a decent elbow.
Burnett cracks Cohen with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cohen tries to buck Burnett off but Burnett is having none of it.

Cohen manages to get back to half guard.
Burnett throws a strike but Cohen avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Burnett stands up over Cohen , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Cohen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cohen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burnett is just riding it out for now. Cohen eventually gives up the hold.
Burnett tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cohen manages to move to mount!

Cohen wants to finish this one by submission but Burnett is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cohen .

Burnett is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cohen gets his way!

Burnett loads up on a big left hand. Cohen felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Burnett looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Cohen can't hide his disappointment, as Burnett celebrates the victory.
