Barros has chosen So Far Away as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aj Matador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saulo Barros!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barros wants to clinch.
Saulo Barros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barros clinches up with Matador and pushes him back against the cage.
Matador wants to take the fight to the mat but Barros manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Matador tries to circle away but Barros has him pinned against the cage.
Barros throws an elbow that misses.
Matador working hard to break the clinch.
Barros lands a nice elbow.
Barros keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Matador's efforts to push away.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matador drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barros pulls his leg out and moves away.
Barros tries to close the distance and clinch but Matador swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matador shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aj Matador. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barros wants to clinch

and Matador holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Matador pulls Barros into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Matador has a closed guard, preventing Barros from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Matador escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barros gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Matador is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barros defends well.
Barros has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Matador is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barros avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Barros wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Matador's closed guard. He's half up but Matador has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Matador pivots and extends the arm, Barros falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Matador! Well done that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aj Matador!
