PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edson Duarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cottontail Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cottontail Rabbit told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duarte shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Rabbit has eaten all the pies!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Duarte stands up and waves to Rabbit to follow him.

Duarte drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duarte is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Duarte seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rabbit for as long as he can get away with.

Duarte drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Duarte seems to have locked his on tight now - Rabbit screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Duarte, as he picks up the win!
