Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Pearson.

It looks like John Carter has been cut.
Carter looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Pearson cracks Carter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pearson. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pearson clinches with his opponent.

Pearson tightens his grip and picks Carter up, before dumping him to the ground. Carter manages to land in guard.
Pearson passes Carter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Carter is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pearson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pearson on the ground.
Pearson working over Carter with some ground and pound. Carter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Pearson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Carter is rocked!

John Carter's cut is getting worse.
Pearson is taking a breather. Carter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Pearson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Carter is in trouble now - Pearson has advanced to mount!

Pearson working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Carter looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Pearson! Submission of the night perhaps?
