Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Choake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Choake has chosen Hans Zimmer - The Kraken as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Choake!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatsuhiko Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Choake throws out the jab.
Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tatsuhiko Jr comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A head kick misses from Tatsuhiko Jr.

Tatsuhiko Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tatsuhiko Jr wants to land a leg kick but Choake is out of range.
Choake throws a big shot that misses.
Both fighters circling a little - Tatsuhiko Jr finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Tatsuhiko Jr scores with a head kick. Choake tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Tatsuhiko Jr wants to slow Choake down by chopping away at his legs.

Choake instigates a clinch.

Tatsuhiko Jr has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Choake uses from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tatsuhiko Jr has momentary wrist control but Choake slips an elbow through the middle.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Choake is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tatsuhiko Jr is aware though and is defending well.

Choake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tatsuhiko Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Choake swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tatsuhiko Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Choake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Choake takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Choake closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tatsuhiko Jr is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Choake can't fight it off and eventually Tatsuhiko Jr manages to take the fight to the floor. Choake looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Choake lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tatsuhiko Jr cracks Choake with a solid left hand.

Tatsuhiko Jr avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Choake seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Tatsuhiko Jr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Choake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tatsuhiko Jr manages to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Choake enables Tatsuhiko Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Choake manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tatsuhiko Jr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
