The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Thorsen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice defenses there by Thorsen.
Souza blocks a head kick by Thorsen.
Souza steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thorsen.
Thorsen throws a push kick but Souza slaps the foot to one side.
Souza connects with a nice looking jab.
Thorsen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Thorsen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Souza works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Gundar Thorsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Souza moves in looking to clinch but Thorsen pushes him off.

Souza moves into range and clinches up with Thorsen.
Thorsen throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Souza throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Souza tries a body shot but Thorsen blocks it.
Thorsen tries to circle away but Souza has him pinned against the ropes.

Thorsen wants to break free but Souza has control.
Thorsen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Souza lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Souza tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thorsen's elbow.
Thorsen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Thorsen tries a knee to the head but Souza blocks it.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Souza creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Thorsen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thorsen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Souza throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Thorsen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Thorsen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Thorsen seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Souza shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Thorsen is backing up but Souza catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Thorsen covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Souza Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergio Souza!
Sergio Souza tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
