Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Basic Three (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Compton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Basic Three!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Three throws a right hand that Compton ducks under and follows up with a left that Compton also avoids with ease.

Compton feints and as Three raises his hands in defense, Compton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Three can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Compton controls the pace.
Compton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Three swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Compton trying to control but Three is working from the bottom.
Compton pushes down on Three's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Compton is nestled in close to Three, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Compton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Compton postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Three to stand up.

Three tries to clinch up.
Compton shoots in for a takedown but Three shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Compton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Three tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Compton is in Three's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Three working a defensive guard but Compton passes into half guard.
Compton slips a nice elbow through Three's hands, connecting with Three's forehead.
Three wants to improve his position but Compton is controlling well.

Compton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Three has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Compton lands a nice short elbow.
Three really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Compton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Compton decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Three throws a series of punches but Compton avoids them all with ease.

Three drops Compton with a nice combination! Three dives into Compton's guard, looking to finish!


Compton is rocked!


It looks like James Compton has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Three stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Compton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oh Compton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Three must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Compton seems to have got his legs back now.

Compton feints and as Three raises his hands in defense, Compton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Three is trying to control the position but Compton postures up.

Compton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Compton's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Compton drops back looking for a leg! Three is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Three manages to kick Compton off! Compton jumps back into Three's guard.
Three utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Three isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Compton stacks Three on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Compton!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Compton looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Three!
Three is in a horrible position here. Compton smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Compton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Three has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Compton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A nice elbow there by Compton.
Three is desperately trying to improve his position but Compton has a good base and remains in mount.

Compton is working to tighten is grip on Three's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Three has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Compton is really squeezing tight and eventually Three passes out! Compton breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
