Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jhon Jones looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jhon Jones!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hudson clinches with his opponent.
Hudson trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hudson into the cage.
Hudson wants to break free but Jones has control.
Hudson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hudson breaks the clinch.

Hudson darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.
Jones prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Hudson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hudson is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage.

Hudson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jones has hold of one of Hudson's legs. Hudson is fighting the takedown attempt but Jones gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Hudson wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.

Hudson moves into the clinch.

Jones works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hudson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hudson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Hudson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.

Hudson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hudson.

Hudson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
Hudson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Hudson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Jones is defending well though. Hudson let's go of the attempt for now.

Hudson doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Xavier Hudson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Hudson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hudson manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Hudson's guard.

Hudson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Hudson pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hudson wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.
Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hudson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jhon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

You can see the frustration on Hudson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones wants to control but Hudson is keeping him busy.

Jones is taking a breather. Hudson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jhon Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
Xavier Hudson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hudson shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones feints and as Hudson raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Hudson is retaining full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones wants to control from the top but Hudson keeps moving.

Jhon Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
