The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shea tries to clinch but McGrim moves out of range.
McGrim has a takedown stuffed.

McGrim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McGrim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McGrim misses with a two punch combination.

McGrim closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shea circles away.

and McGrim counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shea sizes up McGrim with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Shea tries to clinch up but McGrim circles away and keeps his distance.
McGrim swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shea counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shea moves in looking to clinch but McGrim pushes him off.

Shawn McGrim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGrim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shea tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGrim swats him away and circles back towards the center.
EvanB Shea is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shea throws a right and a left that McGrim avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shea looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGrim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Shea cracks McGrim with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Shea pounces like a tiger and cracks McGrim with a vicious hook! McGrim is down but not out! Shea follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

EvanB Shea decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
