PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ro Nin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Hoi tho lui tan - Atmostphere. Moore has chosen I Stand Alone - Godsmack as his entrance music. Rodney Moore has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ro Nin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Moore!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moore shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nin's guard.
Moore sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Moore advances to half guard.

Moore is working for a kimura but Nin is defending it quite comfortably.
Moore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Moore is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nin is just riding it out for now. Moore eventually gives up the hold.

Moore is trying to work for a kimura but Nin is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nin looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moore uses his free foot to push down on Nin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nin.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Moore sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Nin tries to hold on but Moore postures up.

Moore swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nin is now in Moore's guard. A big mistake from Moore there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodney Moore dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Moore shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Moore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Moore misses with a head shot.
Moore throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Nin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Moore.
Nin has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Moore working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Moore working for the choke.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moore biding his time, looking for the opening.
Nin tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moore unloads with some shots from mount but Nin bucks and avoids them well.

Moore goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nin is on top in guard.
Moore wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Moore has his foot on Nin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nin works his way back into a safe position though.
Moore wants to sweep here but Nin controlling him for the moment.
Moore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nin manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodney Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moore showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nin.
Moore fails with an attempt to clinch.
Moore keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Moore bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Moore tries to score with some ground and pound. Nin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Moore decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Moore shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Moore showed some decent athleticism there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nin wants to improve his position but Moore is controlling well.
Nin is trying to stand back up but Moore is controlling him
Rodney Moore has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Moore is working for a submission of some sort.
Nin is trying to stand back up but Moore is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Moore is working for a kimura but Nin is defending it quite comfortably.
Nin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moore on the ground.
Moore prevents Nin from improving his position.
Ro Nin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rodney Moore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
