Smith's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shoot to Thrill. Mason Smith could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Grant Barnett's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Barnett!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Smith takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Barnett lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Barnett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Barnett's jab looks to have found its range, popping Smith under the eye.
Sloppy strikes from Barnett. Those never looked like landing.
A solid leg kick lands there for Barnett.
Smith walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Barnett cracks the inside of Smith's front leg.
Smith dives in and grabs Barnett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barnett pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnett scores with a nice strike.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Barnett is in a horrible position here. Smith smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like Grant Barnett has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Barnett because Smith loaded up on that one.
Barnett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smith looking to control but Barnett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Barnett but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That has opened up Grant Barnett's cut even more.

Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barnett's face.

The cut above Grant Barnett's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Oooh a big shot lands for Smith! Barnett is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
