Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shavo Odin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shavo Odin!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Odin swings widly with a right hand
and Frazier counters with a solid body kick.
Frazier takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Odin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Frazier manages to avoid it.
Odin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Odin moves out of range of the leg kick from Frazier.
Odin misses with a straight right.
Frazier moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Odin throws a body punch but Frazier moves out of range.
Frazier misses with a head kick.
Frazier throws a leg kick that misses.
Odin looks to throw the jab but Frazier is out of range.
Odin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shavo Odin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Frazier fakes the leg kick and cracks Odin in the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Frazier.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Frazier fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Odin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Frazier lands a big head kick that sends Odin tumbling to the mat! Frazier takes a step backwards and waves Odin back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Frazier drops Odin with a big knee straight up the middle! Odin is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Odin is rocked!


It looks like Shavo Odin has been cut.
An inside leg kick lands from Frazier.
Odin is still on wobbly legs! Can Frazier finish him?
Odin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Frazier.
Frazier cracks the inside of Odin's front leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters circling - Odin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Odin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Frazier - the referee stops the clock and Odin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Frazier. Odin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Odin tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Odin has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Frazier.
Frazier is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Frazier is trying to break the clinch but Odin is controlling him.

Frazier throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Frazier throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Odin blocks it with crossed arms.

Frazier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Odin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Frazier defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Odin.
Odin blocks a head kick by Frazier.
Odin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Frazier.

Odin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Odin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Odin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Frazier avoids a series of strikes thrown by Odin.
Frazier blocking the ground and pound.
Poor strikes thrown by Odin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Odin lands a big shot there that rocks Frazier but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Odin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Frazier is looking to escape.
A nice elbow there by Odin.

Odin unloads with some shots from mount but Frazier bucks and avoids them well.
Joe Frazier is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Odin with the ground and pound from mount.
Odin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Odin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Frazier is looking to escape.
Odin throws a wild left hand from mount and Frazier manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.

Odin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Odin is looking for a kimura but Frazier is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Odin to get the leverage.
Odin is stalling here. Frazier is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Odin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Frazier has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Odin is trying to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Shavo Odin.
I think Frazier has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
