Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodolfo Gusman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusman comes to the cage accompanied by La sonora santanera - El santo, el cavernario. Monk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lil Wayne. King Carter. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gusman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Monk instigates a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Gusman scores with a nice short uppercut.
Gusman lands with a left to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Gusman.
Gusman misses with a punch on the inside.
Gusman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

It looks like Marcus Monk has been cut.
Monk blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Monk is trying to maintain a safe position but Gusman gets an underhook and turns Monk into the cage.
The referee calls for Monk to work.

Gusman has Monk pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gusman pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Monk tumbling to the mat - Gusman dives into Monk's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gusman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gusman is looking to take a break and control but Monk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gusman lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Monk quite badly. Monk pulls Gusman in close trying to recover. Gusman postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Monk on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Monk doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
